NOTE: This information will be updated with the implementation of the new provider enrollment system, which is scheduled for April 2026. To stay informed about the transition effort, sign up for Florida Medicaid Health Care Alerts.
Criminal Background Check
Providers must begin the criminal background check process in the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse (Clearinghouse), the Agency’s centralized screening database. First time applicants must submit their Medicaid application and receive their Application Tracking Number (ATN) before initiating the criminal background check process in the Clearinghouse. For more information on Florida's Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, visit the Care Provider Screening Clearinghouse Education and Awareness website.
